New product release LBR/LFR long-distance non-contact liquid level sensor

March 22, 2024

In the daily production process, we may encounter some harsh working environments, such as silos hundreds of meters high, tank environments with a lot of dust, or production environments full of steam or attachments; Monitoring becomes more important and difficult. Traditional material level detection is difficult to overcome many of the above application environments, and the SicWave product series was born around such applications.

SicWave series LBR/LFR free beam radar is used for continuous material level measurement and is widely used in solids and liquids. Particularly resistant to external interference, dust or deposits. Thanks to non-contact radar technology, the LBR/LFR SicWave is easy to put into operation and maintenance-free, and various options for antenna design, process connections and housing help to better adapt to every application. HART communication and Bluetooth connectivity simplify servicing and diagnostics of the device, making it ideally prepared for Industry 4.0 applications.

The LBR/LFR transmits a continuous radar signal through its antenna, the frequency of which changes like a sawtooth. The transmitted signal is reflected by the medium and received as an echo by the antenna. The received signal frequency always deviates from the current transmit frequency, and the frequency difference is calculated by a technical algorithm inside the sensor. The change in frequency is proportional to the level in the container and is converted to the filling height.
